Chuck Smith moved out of a old tent, into a beautiful new mansion...
We are thankful for Pastor Chuck as he simply taught the Bible simply.
We will miss him and will see him soon in Heaven with Jesus.
May God continue to use us as we allow the Holy Spirit to have control!
May God continue to use us as we allow the Holy Spirit to have control!
Matthew 25:21 His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing.” (2 Tim 4:7-8)
"And one of these days, should the Lord tarry, you no doubt will pick up your paper and read, "Chuck Smith died last night. Pastor of Calvary Chapel, etcetera, etcetera, etcetera." Don't believe it. That's poor reporting. If they're going to tell the truth, they're going to have to say, "Chuck Smith moved last night out of a decrepit old holy tent, leaky tent, into a beautiful new mansion." Hey, you don't need to wait for me, because I moved out of the tent into the house, the building of God, not made with hands, you see. Death for the child of God." Chuck Smith, 2 Corinthians 5 — Through the Bible (C2000 Series), (http://blueletterbible.org/Comm/chuck_smith_c2000/2Cr/2Cr005.html)
"When I die some fool will want to raise a memorial to Chuck Smith. We'll have a Chuck Smith gymnasium or something, you know. Oh God forbid. This should remain a memorial to Jesus Christ for what He has done never a memorial to any man. God keep us from that memorial state. Nobody needs to remember me; we need to remember the work that God has done. The monument wasn't built for Joshua, the monument was built so that the children would say, "Hey what's that pile of stones daddy?
"Those stones were once on the bottom of the Jordan River, and when we walked through, we picked up these stones out of the river. That's because God stopped the river so that we could come through. That's the kind of a God we serve." It was to remind them of the work of God.
Oh, that we will always keep that in the forefront of our minds, that the work that we see is not a work of man nor is it to the credit of any man. The work is to the glory of God. Let's keep our memorials unto the Lord for the work that He has wrought." Chuck Smith, Joshua 1-8 — Through the Bible (C2000 Series), (http://blueletterbible.org/Comm/chuck_smith_c2000/Jos/Jos001.html)
"And when I get to heaven I can't say, "Well, Lord, you know who I am. I'm Chuck Smith. After all, I was pastor of Calvary Chapel and all." "There's a backseat over there, go sit down, son." Man respects a person; God doesn't." Chuck Smith, Acts 3-4 — Through the Bible (C2000 Series), (http://blueletterbible.org/Comm/chuck_smith_c2000/Act/Act003.html)
"Now when I die, I leave the time dimensions. I enter into the eternal where everything is now. So, anything that will ever be, is already. So you can't say, "Well, in the future when the whole body is made up, then the Lord's going to bring me into the heavenly scene." Because I'm into the heavenly scene, I've passed into the eternal. I've passed out of time. And so I've left this time zone thing, I've entered into the eternal the moment my spirit leaves this body. It is my body that holds me within the time framework in the time dimension.
And so, those who are asleep in Christ have left the time dimension; they've entered into the eternal where the completion is already now. We'll catch up with them when we leave the time zone, for we, too, will enter into the eternal."
