Stand For Christ

Well, I haven't been downtown witnessing in awhile, but that's because God opened another door. This school year I have been going to Chico High School on Tuesdays at lunch time and PV High School on Thursdays at lunch time for Bible studies.

The group is called "Stand For Christ" which is a group of high school students who gather and study the Bible. At each High School campus we have the students teaching the Word of God. Today at Chico High School, I got to talk to Michel who is having surgery on his shoulder and let him know I would be praying for him.

We looked at James 2, as Justin taught his fellow peers, and classmates. Justin has been doing such a great job, and is really become an excellent teacher. It's been so awesome to watch the Lord mold and shape these High School students into men and women of the Word.

Faith is like the root of what we believe and works are the fruit. It's hard for us to see faith for trust alone, but works help show that there has been a change going on in the inside. Works are good, but they are a heartfelt response to what Jesus did for us and they allow for us to grow closer to Him as we walk with Him daily. We are not saved by our works, just like the thief that died next to Jesus on the cross. Jesus didn't have him get baptized or do some good works, but it was is trust in Jesus that saved him.

If we were going to have to jump from an air-plane and were told a parachute was on board. You know the parachute will save you but if you only believe in it and never put it on you will die when you jump. Its the same with Jesus, we must transfer our trust from ourselves or the things in this world and place our trust in Jesus Christ, and that's all that really matters.

It was a great time today, and during the invitation Zack fully surrendered his life to Jesus and prayed to receive Jesus as his Lord and Savor. He was given a booklet called "Save Yourself Some Pain" which is has 10 principles for new and growing disciples.

No matter what happens in this world you can trust in Jesus. And as things get harder and closer to the jump we face, cling tighter to Jesus. Thank you Jesus for a great time at our local High School campuses, and may many more students Stand For Christ.
