Getting Started

"Draw near to God and He will draw near to you..." -James 4:8
"..He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him" -Hebrews 11:6

Have you just made that all-important decision to accept God's plan of salvation through Jesus Christ? If so, the decision to follow Christ is the most important decision a person will ever make in their life. However, your relationship with God must be personal, and must be developed on an individual basis.

God wants us to understand salvation and have the confidence of knowing for sure that we are saved (1 John 5:13). If you need to make sure you understand salvation or are seeking to Know God please read the "Know God?" page.

Jesus calls you to deny yourself and count the cost of following Him (Mark 8:34-38) and has also given us a Helper (John 14:16-17). God will never leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5) and when you choose to follow Jesus, the Holy Spirit actually lives within you (Ephesians 1:13-14). He will teach you, guide you, and strengthen you in times of need. Depend on the Holy Spirit and be continually filled with the Spirit (Ephesians 5:18).

You've made the decision, now let's go farther. You might say that the Bible is the "user's manual of life" we have all been searching for. Everything we need to know about God and living a life that pleases Him is found in its pages. Here are four important things you need to know about growing spiritually, some key steps in the right direction...

READ
Studying the Bible is necessary for our spiritual growth (Start with the Gospel of John). It keeps us strong and helps us apply its truth to our lives. Having a personal Bible Study is your time to connect with God and learn more about Him and His Word, the Bible. (Bible Study Resources)

PRAY
Prayer is simply talking to God. It enables us to seek forgiveness, overcome worry, and grow in spiritual knowledge and maturity. Prayer is you talking to God, and listening to Him. In quietness listen for God's answer when you pray. (Prayer Resources)

FELLOWSHIP
An essential part of Christian growth, providing fellowship with other believers. It keeps its members well fed and spiritual active. Connecting with other Christians is vital to your walk with God. He never intended for us to do life alone. (Fellowship Resources)
SHARE
Jesus told us to "preach the Good News to everyone." Helping lead someone to Christ is one of the greatest things believers can do. Share your faith, and how your relationship with God has affected your life, with others who may have never heard. (Evangelism Resources)
