Courageous Movie (PG-13) - In Theaters Now

Courageous is a must see movie and now playing at Tinseltown/Cinemark 14 for those of you in the Chico area, but so far only from Sept 30-Oct 06.

COURAGEOUS will capture your heart as you meet four officers, their friend Javier, and their families. This video that will introduce you to the characters and the storyline.

Honor Begins at Home

Four men, one calling: To serve and protect. As law enforcement officers, Adam Mitchell, Nathan Hayes, David Thomson, and Shane Fuller are confident and focused. Yet at the end of the day, they face a challenge that none of them are truly prepared to tackle: fatherhood.

While they consistently give their best on the job, good enough seems to be all they can muster as dads. But they're quickly discovering that their standard is missing the mark.

When tragedy hits home, these men are left wrestling with their hopes, their fears, their faith, and their fathering. Can a newfound urgency help these dads draw closer to God ... and to their children?

Filled with action-packed police drama, COURAGEOUS is the fourth film from Sherwood Pictures, the moviemaking ministry of Sherwood Baptist Church in Albany, Georgia. Riveted moviegoers will once again find themselves laughing, crying, and cheering as they are challenged and inspired by everyday heroes who long to be the kinds of dads that make a lifelong impact on their children.

Protecting the streets is second nature to these men. Raising their children in a God-honoring way? That's courageous.

How there could be a State of Palestine with Israel Support?

One possible answer is that if Israel were allowed to rebuild their Temple near the Dome of the Rock they might support their being a State of Palestine. However Israel won't give up any of their land but might allow Palestine to have complete control of the Gaza Strip and the West Bank if they were allowed to rebuild their Temple. Of course this is only going to be temporary peace if this was to happen. The only way to have real peace in the Middle East is for Jesus to come back.

And that will happen. No doubt that the world will be in total shock and chaos when there will be millions of people who simply just vanish off the face of the Earth without a trace. This may be hard for you to understand, but this event has been prophesied thousands of years ago...in the Bible...Lets take a look at what else was prophesied...

"For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places" (Matthew 24:7), the return of the Hebrew people (Fulfilled in May 14, 1948) to Israel (Deuteronomy 30:1-5), and of their Holy Temple being rebuilt in Jerusalem (2 Thessalonians 2:4), and a ruler of a vast empire as having power and great authority controlling all commerce making a 7-year covenant of "peace" with Israel (Revelation 13:1-18)...

The Bible says that Jesus Christ comes for his church and takes them home to be with him. But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but the Father only (Matthew 24:36). Anyone who repents and trusts Jesus Christ as their Lord and personal savior will be included in the rapture (the word rapture means "being caught up"). Keep reading below...

1 Corinthians 15:51-52 (NKJV) says...
"Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed - in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed."

And 1 Thessalonians 4:15-17 (NKJV) says...
"For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep. For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord."

How to Share Your Testimony Biblically

How to Share Your Testimony Biblically
What is a Testimony?
The Hebrew word for testimony is `eduwth, which means to witness, and the Greek word is martyreō, which means to bear witness, testify, bear record, have a good report. So testify what God has done.

...One thing I know: that though I was blind, now I see.” John 9:25
- My Life Before Christ
All my works and actions are like filthy rags - Isaiah 64:6
My sin separates me from God - Isaiah 59:2, 1 John 3:4
Because of my sin I deserve death - Romans 6:23

- My Life Changed by Christ
I came to my senses and realized that I personally sinned against God - Luke 15:17-18
Christ suffered and died for me on the Cross and He rose again on the third day - 1 Corinthians 15:3-4
I repented (turned away from sin) and placed my trust in Jesus Christ - Acts 3:19, Ephesians 2:8-9

- My New Life in Christ
I have been cleansed by the blood of Jesus Christ - 1 John 1:7
God loves me and has given me the gift of everlasting life - John 3:16
I have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ - Romans 5:1

If you received Jesus as a young child, you still have an awesome testimony. You can tell how Jesus keeps a person from falling into gross sin. Your testimony should include how you became a Christian, even if you do not remember all of the circumstances. Be specific in telling what Christ has done in your life, but don’t glorify your past as that was before Christ. So, tell the truth about how Jesus has saved you and changed your life, and allow the Holy Spirit to lead you. Every Christian can tell others of God’s grace because we have been saved from the wages of sin which leads to death, and have received the free gift of eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord. Pray and remember your testimony is not really about you but what God has done in your life.

Know God?

You may know of Him, but do you really know Him?
Yes, He loves you, but is there a relationship between you and God?

Where Did I Come From? You were created by God and for God, but your sin separates you from God. The first man, Adam, rebelled against God's command and brought death, suffering, and separation from God into this world. We see the results all around us. All of us are Adam's descendants and we have been born with sin and have entered into this rebellion and sin.

The Wrong Way To GodThe Bible says "All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." God is perfect and holy, and our sins separate us from God. The Bible says "The wages of sin is death." but also that "God demonstrates His own love for us in that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us."

God does love you, and he demonstrated His love for you by sending His Son Jesus who died on the cross (the sinless Man) who paid the penalty of sin for everyone who trusts in Him. The Bible says, "God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life". And He offers you a relationship with God because of what He did.

The Only Way To GodChrist died for our sins, was buried, and He rose again the third day from the dead. He was seen by the twelve apostles, and after that He was seen by over five hundred people at once. After that He was seen by his step-brother James, and He was seen by Paul also who formally persecuted the followers of Jesus. Jesus rose from the dead and now He lives in heaven with God His Father.

God reaches out in love and freely offers forgiveness of sin, a relationship, and the gift of eternal life if we receive Him as our Savior and Lord. Because Jesus is the Creator and the way to Heaven we can look forward to eternity with Him and be free from death, pain, sickness, and suffering one day. Jesus said "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except by Me."

Which Way Are You Going? Do it today, ask Jesus Christ to forgive your sins and come in to your life as your Savior and Lord. The Bible says "As many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe on His name."

-Repent: Turn from sin and turn to Jesus (Acts 3:19)
-Believe: Trust in the finished work of Jesus (John 3:16-17)
-Receive: Invite Jesus to come into your life (John 1:12-13)

If you want a personal relationship with God and have your sins forgiven, here is a suggested prayer...

Lord, You have promised that if I will confess my sins, You will be faithful to forgive me and cleanse me from all unrighteousness. I want to turn from my sins, and live in a way that will please You. I thank you that Jesus Christ died on the cross, paying the price for my sins, and then rose from the dead. I accept Him now as my Savior, my Lord, and my friend. Thank you for giving me a new life in Christ. I surrender myself to you and thank you for loving me, in Jesus' name. Amen.

Remember the words are not important but the attitude of your heart as you repent and trust in Jesus.

Have you trusted in Christ because of what you read here?

Is God calling you to make His message known?

And how will anyone go and tell them without being sent? That is why the Scriptures say, "How beautiful are the feet of messengers who bring good news!"
Romans 10:15, NLT

We must take God's great message of salvation to others so that they can respond to the Good News. How will your loved ones and neighbors hear it unless someone tells them? Is God calling you to take a part in making His message known in your community?

Think of one person who needs to hear the Good News, and think of something you can do to help him or her hear it. Then take that step as soon as possible.

Afraid to Share the Gospel?

For I am not ashamed of this Good News about Christ. It is the power of God at work, saving everyone who believes--the Jew first and also the Gentile.
Romans 1:16, NLT

Paul was not ashamed because his message was the gospel of Christ, the Good News. It was a message of salvation, it had life-changing power, and it was for everyone.

When you are tempted to be ashamed, remember what the Good News is all about. If you focus on God and on what God is doing in the world rather than on your own inadequacy, you won't be ashamed or embarrassed.
